Braces & Aligners

Braces are made of metal or porcelain and are attached to your teeth. Metal wires and rubber bands are then used to provide a force to help the teeth move into the correct position. Aligners are made of plastic and are custom made to fit your teeth.

Metal braces consist of brackets that are affixed to your teeth. Wires are threaded through slots in the brackets. The brackets are typically made of stainless steel and the wires stay connected to the brackets by small rubber bands. Whereas, Aligners are thin, clear trays made to fit your teeth. Patients receive sets of aligners designed to move their teeth using the same method as braces: constant, gentle pressure.
